Privacy policy

What the game and this website send, what is kept, and why. Last updated 21 October 2026.

In short

  • The game shares no usage data unless you agree to it, and sends nothing at all while you play offline.
  • Online games send the display name you choose, your chat and your game commands to the game server.
  • This website uses no tracking cookies and no analytics.

Who we are

Nations Reborn and this website are made by Portside Labs. Questions about your data, or requests about it, go to CONTACT_EMAIL_TBD.

The game

Anonymous usage and performance data: only if you agree

The first time you start the game, it asks whether it may share anonymous usage data. Until you say yes it shares nothing, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings.

If you agree, the game sends:

  • from single-player games: the maps, nations and settings you play, and how your games end;
  • from any game of two minutes or more, how well it ran: its frame rate, the game’s version, your operating system and its version, your graphics card’s name and kind, the number of processor threads, the amount of memory, the window’s size, your graphics settings, and the size of the map and number of players.

It sends no names and nothing personal. To tell one computer’s reports from another’s, the game makes up a random identifier for itself; it is not linked to you. Nothing is sent while you are offline.

Online multiplayer

When you play online, the game sends the game server:

  • the display name you choose;
  • your chat messages;
  • your game commands: the orders you give in the game.

The server keeps a session token, which lets it recognise your copy of the game when it connects again, and a history of the games played. The other players in a game see your display name and the chat sent to them.

Checking for a new version

When it starts, the game reads the list of releases from downloads.nationsreborn.com to tell you whether a new version is out. That request sends nothing about you beyond what every internet request carries, such as your IP address. Offline, it simply does not happen.

On your computer

Your saved games and settings stay on your computer, in the game’s folder in your user account. Single player against computer players needs no connection at all.

This website

  • No tracking cookies, no advertising and no third-party trackers. Fonts and pictures are served from this site itself.
  • No analytics. We do not count or profile visitors.
  • Hosting. The site and the downloads are served by Cloudflare, which handles the technical data that every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser, to deliver the pages and files and to protect them from abuse.
  • Your system. The Download page looks at your browser’s description of your computer to show the right download first. That happens in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
  • Links to other sites. VirusTotal reports, and any other site we link to, have their own privacy policies.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
